followers of my faith [Mormon Monday 89]

Last night we had our second annual Messiah concert (well, it's been going for 24 years, but it's the second year I participated). I love the music and the words celebrating Christ.

My favorite part of this video is the quotation of the words of Isaiah. They are great.

followers of my faith [Mormon Monday 88]

Those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit are willing to do anything and everything that God asks of them, without resistance or resentment. We cease doing things our way and learn to do them God's way instead. In such a condition of submissiveness, the Atonement can take effect and true repentance can occur. The penitent will then experience the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost, which will fill them with peace of conscience and the joy of reconciliation with God. In a wondrous union of divine attributes, the same God who teaches us to walk with a broken heart invites us to
rejoice and to be of good cheer. (x)

that kind of grateful [01]

Listen. I know this gets done a lot. I hate to be a follower. But...I'm going to reprise what I did 6 years ago and it'll be lots of fun for all of us! But mostly me, because I'm the only one that knows what I'm really saying with my gratitude. So here's my first ten days of gratitude (ten, because it's a nice round number and I don't have to figure out what to do with the extra two days if I did it weekly).

1: I'm grateful for a friend to empathize with my super important woes
2: I'm grateful for a memorized hymn
3: I'm grateful for a cognitive coupon
4: I'm grateful for a bad movie made better with friends
5: I'm grateful for that Walk the Moon song
6: I'm grateful for cake and ice cream
7: I'm grateful for HSM
8: I'm grateful for old neighbors
9: I'm grateful for an unexpected extended stay
10: I'm grateful for the ability to update and be updated

followers of my faith [Mormon Monday 87]

Guess who said this lovely little quotation. (You can find out the answer by pressing the x at the end of the paragraph...but you will probably be able to tell who it was.)

The Lord has placed currents of divine influence in your life that will lead you along the individual plan He would have you fulfill here on earth. Seek through the Spirit to identify it and carefully follow that direction that the Lord has put in your life. Align yourself with it. Choose, willingly, to exercise your agency to follow it. Do not be overcome by concentrating solely on today, its challenges, difficulties, and opportunities. Such preoccupations must not totally capture your attention so as to consume your life. Oh, how I would encourage you to weave deeply into the fabric of your soul the recognition that your life now is a part of a much bigger plan the Lord has for you. You lived part of it in the premortal existence. You were valiant there and came here because you  wanted to grow and enjoy greater happiness. What you decide to do now will affect how well you fulfill that divine, personal plan He has for you. (x)
Choose the right.

This one is long. I couldn't bear to cut any footage at all so you get everything! But it's fun. We're darling.

followers of my faith [Mormon Monday 86]

In this passage in Numbers 17, the Israelites are trying to rebel against Aaron as their leader, so the Lord gives Moses some direction to show that Aaron is His chosen leader.

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man’s name upon his rod.
3 And thou shalt write Aaron’s name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers.
4 And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you.
5 And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.
6 ¶And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, and every one of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.
7 And Moses laid up the rods before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness.
8 And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.
9 And Moses brought out all the rods from before the Lord unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod.
10 ¶And the Lord said unto Moses, Bring Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.
We can learn from this passage that we can receive a confirming witness that the Lord's chosen leaders are called by Him.

This is a nice video.
