I've been 'round this music

2012 was a good year. It had to be, because twelve is my favorite number (and being 24 was always destined to be a fabulous age). Here are four "Songs of 2012" that will always remind me of different points in my life that year:

*"We Found Love" ~ Coldplay
Picture, if you will, a surprisingly mild evening in late February or early March. The wind is blowing but it's not too cold. I have my car door open for several minutes because I'm too busy chatting to get in and drive away. Apparently, so is he. When we finally part ways, this is the song on my speakers. It sounds like spring, like hope. "It's the way I'm feeling I just can't describe -- it's the way I'm feeling now"

*"Love You Like a Love Song" ~ Selena Gomez
I can finally listen to this song again now that the inside joke has lost its sting and is just an inside joke again (or perhaps the joke is gone, and the song is just a song). Also do you know how easy it is to shake your head at these lyrics?? "I am hypnotized by your destiny"

*"Titanium" ~ David Guetta feat. Sia
"You shoot me down, but I won't fall. I am titanium"

*"Wond'rin'" ~ Anne of Green Gables
Once upon a time, the stake musical took over my life. And it was fabulous. All the songs I hated at first became tolerable. I liked hanging out with the cast and the crew. And I liked being busy. I never hated this song even from the start (especially once our Gilbert sang it -- this guy is just some other guy), and I really identified with it at the time as well. "Wonderin' why we can't be sweethearts, and wonderin' why my heart keeps thunderin' when I hope you're wonderin' about me this way"

So there you go. I tried to think of twelve but it wasn't working very well. These are the most important anyway.
